Have you heard of wheatgrass juices? Don't feel bad, most people haven't, but juicing wheatgrass can be a key part of a healthy drink. You can add it to any combination of vegetables you're juicing and the benefits are legion; vitamins, minerals, amino acids and those enzymes which help with digestive problems. Wheatgrass juices are also used as a preventative as it detoxifies the body, increases blood flow and is an excellent all-round addition to any diet. It also helps to alkalize and oxygenate the blood, boost the immune system and assists in regulating the thyroid.

The science behind the green drinks lies in the fact that they contain a lot of chlorophyll. In a plant, chlorophyll is transformed into Adenosine Triphosphate or ATP. If you have had cellular biology, then you know that this is the molecule in the body that is responsible for storing your energy. Chlorophyll is also what gives plants their green color. Potassium salts are easy to find in most plants. The sodium salts are a little harder to find, and many people are deficient in them. Celery is high in sodium electrolyte minerals, and this is why I recommend celery as the foundation of juices.

You can also purchase juice from a juice bar. Or, there are growers who sell trays of wheatgrass that you can purchase and then juice yourself.



Another type of colon cleanse product is the one that you purchase either at the store or through a mail order company. These colon cleanses tend to work well although they can be harsh at times. Some of the things that you may need to look out for when using a store-bought colon cleanse is allergic reactions, the colon cleansing to quickly or perhaps even uncontrollable gas (yes this has happened). The good part about cleaning your colon using one of these products is that you will notice things coming out of you that you could never have imagined were in there. Some of these could be parasites and stones.

Eating the right foods is the most important way to nourish our bodies. We can easily get into the habit of eating the same foods all the time. It is so important to vary our diets in order to ensure we are getting more of a variety of nutrients.

Also introduce only a small handful of green vegetables at the beginning. By the start of week two you should increase the quantity of both green leaf vegetables and green powder.
